Social Media is Full of Fit People Doing Fit Things and Telling You to Be Fit
Of course, everything they eat and cook is fit, including desserts. The hashtags #postresfit and #postresfitness have amassed over 100,000 posts on Instagram. Recipes for lightened-up and supposedly healthier versions of classic desserts or bizarre healthy inventions with “just two or three ingredients” are racking up millions of views on TikTok.
But what does fit mean, you may ask? It could be translated as “suitable for people who want to stay in shape,” “more or less healthy,” or “non-fattening.” With an avalanche of influencers cashing in on the trend, we had no choice but to declare a state of emergency and launch El Comidistest. We tested four very, very fitness-friendly dessert recipes that have been trending on social media, from rice cake tiramisu and frozen oatmeal cups to flourless apple desserts and banana chocolate cookies.
